Arshad has a lot of complaints about his role in Golmaal Returns?
I can't understand Arshad's anger. I'll never work with Arshad again. He has every right to feel the way he does. Everyone knows that Golmaal Returns is a story of four guys. How can it be just an Ajay-Arshad film? While doing Sunday, I had sent the script to Kareena and Arshad.
And they both said 'yes'. People are praising Tusshar Kapoor in Golmaal Returns. Should Ajay get upset about it? After struggling so much, Arshad has just four hits Munnabhai and Golmaal and the sequels. And he says I've cheated him thrice. Was he in love with me that he believed in me repeatedly after I cheated him? Could I have blackmailed him thrice into working with me? He should be happy his film is doing well.
• But he is at a stage where he wants to do more substantial roles.
Well, he did Saher as a solo lead. It didn't do well despite being a good film. Didn't Arshad know what he was getting into in Golmaal? I was making a film for the masses. I knew what I was doing. What has he done in his career without other heroes in the same film? Instead of being happy about being part of a successful film, he's sulking.
• Will you sort it out with him?
No. I won't work with him again. I'm announcing here and now my plans to make Golmaal 3 without Arshad. Munnabhai and Golmaal can work without Arshad, with any other actor playing his role. Why is he so self-obsessed? He needs a reality check.
• What about the Sanjay Dutt-Arshad film Johnny Johnny Yes Papa?
Arshad is not doing that. I'll do it with Sanjay Dutt and another actor. He has money issues. If I give him Rs 1.5 crore extra he'll be willing to Golmaal 3 after claiming to be cheated. |
